THE LAUREL PROGRAM

Most of you who read this newsletter and who have been with MAPCL for some time probably know of the Laurel Program, or at least have heard of us. However, I was thinking that some of the newer employees might not be familiar with our team. Briefly, the Laurel Program is located at head office and is made up of, Kavita Kamat our Team Leader, Consultants: Joanne Beattie, Marcia Collins, Kathryn De Lisser, Amanda George, and Jolie Rochard, (Anita Hua, Christine Peterson & Raminder Grewal are off on maternity leave). We also have a team of consultants working on Vancouver Island consisting of: Katherine Paxton, Julie Lafontaine and Gabriel Canal. I best not forget the one person that keeps us all organized, and that is Dan Volbek our administrative assistant. The Laurel Program provides behaviour consultation supports to families with children under the age of 19. Primarily, we work with children who have received a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder, however; we also work with many other families who have children with various challenges. As a team, we are also just beginning to consult in delivering services to adults. This is an extremely exciting opportunity for us within Laurel Team and we hope to expand on our expertise and experience in this area. The future looks bright!

Until next time.
