THANKSGIVING
WHY WE SHOULD REALLY MEAN IT…

"Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all the others."
Cicero

In a moment we can realize that life is a little sweeter than we thought. When we have a brush with loss or the possibility of a lamentable event about to unfold, we know what we must do.

True gratitude for our lives, our days and our fellow travelers is really necessary. There is a place in our hearts full of unused sentiment, cynical and jaded expectation and envy and regret which counts for very little. Our days here on earth are marked by our time, space and our fellow humans. They disappoint us, sometime revel a little in our minor misfortune and are like the chime on a clock when we forget times gone by.

This Thanksgiving, be thankful and full of gratitude for our prosperity, being in this beautiful place on earth, and having the good fortune to be part of more than a hundred cultures that share our space and time.

If there is really one thing to have profound thanks for, it would be that we have time to create change and with like-minded people, we can. We are not limited by principalities, despots or external forces. If we can join hands and call ourselves and our fellows to action, we walk along a difficult path with security and grace.  There is no place or person which will not be affected by the actions and commitment of believers in change and activism.  There is no need to take up arms. There is a need to take up thoughts and causes, and to create, person by person a moral dialogue. We will stand together with a clear vision of equality, right thinking, inclusion and victory over, not escape from the status quo.  Give thanks for your individuality, talents, experience and your part in the great renovation needed in our world. Thank you for each good thought and deed you manifest.
