WHAT IS A MOTHER?

What is a mother? Who shall answer this?
A mother is a font and spring of life,
A mother is a forest in whose heart
Lies hid a secret ancient as the hills,
For men to claim and take its wealth away;
And like the forest shall her wealth renew

A mother is a person who never stops trying to make our life a better place to live. There’s a little bit of self-interest when she tries to select our life partner, a little touch of being over-proud when a grandchild paints a melting mess onto a finger painting.  Our mother is our first trusted friend and the instiller of our “inner voice”, good or bad.

We wait a lifetime to be different n every way from her in our thoughts, demeanour and statements, only to find that we more closely emulate her as each year passes.

Let’s celebrate the keeper of our birthday cake, the engineer of our early years and the constant and remarkable reminder that we are loved.
