HAVE A HEART
An Advocacy Initiative of BCACL

What does it take to make a point? A lot of people and a lot of candy!
As a project in the Community Living Sector focused on bringing attention to cuts and inadequate consideration of Community Living Services –BCACL took the sweet approach. Thousands of candies were brought to the Legislature. Phone your local Member of the Legislative Assembly to voice your support for Community Living and eradication of long waits for families, infants, youth and adults who are struggling to survive without support. Email your MLA at: http://www.leg.bc.ca/mla/3-1-6.htm
Think of 3150 Families with members who are waiting for services. Think of 1045 infants waiting for assessment, think of 857 children who have not yet received services. Behavioral services, support and placements are not meeting any reasonable timetable for first contact, assessment, placement or ongoing support.
Hearts are waiting for the Government to show its Heart. We know that our most vulnerable citizens have not been a priority for our Provincial government. Show your concern and support constructive, swift implementation of a Service Plan that will make a difference in our communities.
"A community is democratic only when the humblest and weakest person can enjoy the highest civil, economic, and social rights that the biggest and most powerful possess.”
- Phillip Randolph
