EARTH, WATER, SKY
How lucky are we?
It is pretty obvious why the poetry of Pauline Johnson, famous First Nations muse extolled the beauty and romance of our West Coast. It is also clear that the Group of Seven, the artistic equivalent of a visual road show were also enchanted by the elemental grandeur of British Columbia.

Little known groups and homesteaders came too. They were astounded by the expanse of land, the abundance and freedom they found here.
Poets such as Karla Funk observe our horizons, our azure tidal pools and explosions of wildflower colour to expose us to a description of beauty in our midst.
As an avid traveler throughout the three climatic zones in our province, there is nary a square inch of our land that does not sing out its character and amaze us with its omnium-gatherum variety.
In our northern reaches, the water mingles with the sky and shoots jewels of sunlight across the horizon. At the sultry centre of our province, a veldt of huge and well manicured vines and orchards springs forth each year. The same area sends tumble weeds across a scorched dessert.
The mountains that brace our borders form rough pyramids and send crystal clear water to our valleys. Our cities and towns are marked by lines on a map, but are really often overgrown neighborhoods where coffee shops dot the landscape.
Our summers are glorious, and our rainy season promotes a lot of closet cleaning and retro-movie watching. This summer, see as much of our landscape as you can. See traditional tourist sites, do the West Coast Trail hike, see the ceremonies of summer in Prince Rupert or camp in one of our parks where the stars hang so low, you will be tempted to reach for them.
