BUILDING BLOCKS FOR MAPCL'S VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

This year, through funding from Service Canada our agency was able to use the skills of three talented Job Creation Program employees to create a blueprint for a volunteer program.

Using collected research and best practices information ,with an analysis of the results of an internal agency needs analysis, a plan was struck for developing systems including risk analysis, volunteer recruitment and retention, placements and all documentation.

The three documents created by the project personnel and Kathy Fournier, our Director of Development were a Research Report, including needs analysis, a Strategic Plan and a basic policies document.

These materials will be reviewed and a Volunteer Plan will be deployed when the board has vetted the results of the completed work, and funding for a Volunteer Coordinator position has been acquired.
