ALL THE BEST FROM VISTA HOUSE

T'was the night before the party
And all through the house
All the folks were quietly sleeping
...even the mouse!

When all 'round the house
The wind it did blow
Would the power go out?
Huma did not know.

Out on the street, branches were seen
Hitting the road in showering streams.
The power, of it did go...Oh no!
And the wind did continue to blow and blow and blow.

Huma all alone on that dark blustery night
Found some candles and created some light.
Huddled in silence, under blankets to keep warm,
She thought about the party that just might come to harm.

When greeting the staff in the cold dark morn,
She did wonder if they would all moan,
Would they groan and say
The party must be cancelled on this cold, dark, blustery day.

But no!! Tami, Paul and Elena, sat right down
Amidst the candlelight and began making a plan.
The party must go on, by hook or by crook.
The food must be cooked, coffee must be found
They would get right to work, A little power outage would not get them down.

And work they did in the dark, wrapping, and cooking and decorating
Until just before the party began, the light and warmth entered again.
The house began filling with staff, family and friends,
Bringing enough food for army and fit many a queen and king

The roof was raised by the noise and good cheer
Everyone wishing "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year"
