AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM AT NEW TRANSITIONS
RECEIVES FUNDING FROM
VARIETY THE CHILDREN'S CHARITY

Thanks to funding from Variety the Children’s Charity and the commitment of Rob Pretli, Team Leader, and Dodi Smiley, Supervisor, New Transitions After School Program in Maple Ridge is a reality. The persons who will receive services are young people and “tweens” who face some isolation and a lack of programming for their social and development needs. The focus of the program is to give regular bonding opportunities, outbound and in-house recreation to young people with developmental challenges.

The grant from Variety allows this innovative latch-key program to provide recreational stimuli, a WE gaming system, retrofit of the site and the ability to hit the ground running for new referrals. Everything will be in place to provide a welcoming place and time for developing peer relationships and learning social skills.

Dodi Smiley worked with MAPCL Development, and Variety the Children’s Charity responded with generous and timely support, through the efforts of Patsy Craig at Variety and her committee.

Thank You Variety!
