Fall 2009

MAPCL and Mandt

MAPCL has recently embarked on a new relationship with The Mandt System Canada for the purpose of enhancing our core staff training.  The Mandt System is designed as a relationship-building program, which includes elements of behavioural psychology, conflict resolution, and positive behavioural support fundamentals.

The Mandt System’s over arching principle is that all the work we do happens within the context of relationships.  Building healthy relationships requires effort and the deliberate application of effective communication strategies and practical assessment tools.

As part of our implementation plan for the Mandt System Don Devries and I delivered MAPCL’s first Mandt System staff training event August 10th thru 12th.  14 MAPCL staff members are now Mandt System pioneers.  Congratulations to those participants!

As communicated several weeks ago, our Mandt System implementation plan will unfold over approximately 2 years, eventually replacing NVCI and Philosophy and Values.  All MAPCL will receive Mandt System training.

MAPCL will be hosting a Mandt System “Train the Trainer” event in Coquitlam November 23rd thru 27th. For further information about The Mandt System “Train the Trainer” event in November, please do not hesitate to contact me directly, at (604) 299-4001 ext. 270.

Cheers!
