Home Is Where The Heart Is

Would you like to learn about choosing a future home for your relative with a disability?

Join us for a full-day workshop and explore what "home" means for your relative with a disability. Having a good home is essential to a good life. The day will begin with a general overview of various housing models. Participants can choose several models of interest and explore them in depth through small group discussion. Families, service providers, and specialized professionals will be a part of these groups, sharing their knowledge and experience.

In this workshop, you will learn about:
• a variety of innovative models, including home ownership, co-housing,co-operative housing, group homes, long-term rentals and more
• important financial, legal and support service considerations
• the experiences of other families

There will also be time to socialize, network and have some fun!
