A Message from Richard MacDonald,
President of the Self-Advocates for Equality (SAFE) Committee

I hope everyone is having a great summer. Please be careful and do not get sunburned, wear sunscreen strong enough to protect yourself from the sun.

Here are some things that SAFE members are doing in the community this summer:
Richard took the bus out to Chillwack to visit family. Now that he’s a senior it only cost $9.00. Richard has also joined the seniors bowling team at Grandview Lanes.

Rosie likes going to the pool and is preparing for the Fringe festival in September with the Stage Door Troupe. The play they are doing is “City of Control”.

Paco is going to Castle Park to go hiking.

Marcy is flying to Edmonton to visit family, she will go to all the small towns where she has cousins and to West Edmonton Mall.

Patti is going to Camp in White Rock with Simon Fraser Society’s self-advocates.

Remember to participate in your community and that community is for everyone.
