ABUNDANT LIFE EVENT - A HUGE SUCCESS

On March 28th, Taoxia Pan and Perry Miao our Volunteer Development Project Staff joined our Director of Development and Communications at the Abundant Life Outreach event to introduce the Chinese community to service providers in the Community Living field. More than 30 exhibitors attended, and hundreds of families were able to audit this info-fair. Located in the Crystal Mall, the site was perfect, housing Chinese’s vendors, food stands, music, decor and culture. The convention area was beautiful and just the right size for a family-friendly event.

MAPCL’s kiosk held Chinese documents such as our Catalogue of Services, an article by Taoxia Pan in Chinese and an elegant Chinese Power Point created by Perry Miao, Mike Butcher and Taoxia Pan. We got a warm reception from the many Chinese families. In the case of some of the attending family groups, who had received support from MAPCL in the past, we were told of the gratitude they had and the appreciation they had for staff Don DeVries and Ron Wahlberg. One mother said that her child had not uttered a word until attending Vancouver Life Skills. It was a great day for all participants to get to know each other as well, with many exhibitors touring the exhibits and introducing themselves.

You can see and download our Chinese version of our Catalogue of Services on our Programs page on the MAPCL website, and view or download our Chinese Power Point from the same page.
