Program(s) Supervisor
Ensures that staff teams meet acceptable standards of service delivery to people with disabilities in their homes and day programs. Is responsible for the supervision and direction of Senior Support Workers and Community Support Workers in up to three programs. The Supervisor is part of the Bargaining Unit and is accountable to the Team Leader.
Education and Qualifications
- An undergraduate degree in social work, psychology or related discipline
- Minimum three to five years of experience working with people who live with mental and/or physical challenges
- Previous supervisory experience
- Class 5 driver’s license, for some positions unrestricted class 4 driver’s license
- Clean driving record
- Current Emergency First Aid / CPR certification
- Non Violent Crisis Intervention training
- Current TB test clearance
- CPIC clearance
- Eligibility for approval as Person in Charge by Licensing Department
- Reliable vehicle as required
Skills and Abilities
- A strong commitment to the philosophy of people with challenges living and working in the community
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team setting, with an emphasis on leadership, self-initiative, patience, maturity, and tact
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Knowledge of the local community’s resources and services provided in the Community Living field
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and liaise with families and professionals
- A strong commitment to ensuring that the rights of supported individuals are protected

Senior Support Worker (Person in Charge of Client Services)
Ensures that staff teams are meeting acceptable standards of service delivery to people with disabilities. Assists the Supervisor in providing orientation, training, work direction, and guidance to Community Support Workers. Sees to it that clients’ physical, emotional, social, educational, and medical needs are met. The Senior Support Worker is part of the Bargaining Unit and is accountable to the Program Supervisor.
Education and Qualifications
- A degree in human services or a related discipline or an acceptable combination of education and experience
- Minimum two years direct program experience working with people who live with mental and/or physical challenges
- Class 5 driver’s license, for some positions unrestricted class 4 driver’s license
- Clean driving record
- Current Emergency First Aid / CPR certification
- Non Violent Crisis Intervention training
- Current TB test clearance
- CPIC clearance
- Reliable vehicle as required
