When asked, “How are you feeling about having a community garden at your home?” David replied, "I am feeling in touch with everything. I am working hard and helping out in life. I am in tune with everything."
~ David, Community Garden Host.

Jimmy has always worked and played in the garden. Some of his earliest memories are of watering vegetables at home with his parents and older brother Michael. With am impish grin, he recalls the time he threw green tomatoes at his brother to get him all fired up and ready to play! All kidding aside, community gardening can develop valuable employment skills and personal abilities. Jimmy is part of Can You Dig It and through building Ladybug Community Garden, is further developing his own abilities while giving back to others. He adds,  “I encourage people to help out at a community garden because they can feed their families and help others. I think it is great!”
~ Jimmy, gardener at Ladybug community garden

“In our gardens we grow more than food; we cultivate relationships. We discover our full potential as individuals, neighbors and friends. Growing our own food not only gives us confidence in our abilities, but brings us hope for the future. It brings us something to look forward to. Harvesting the fruit of your efforts and sharing it with those in needs is empowering and makes us become an active member of our community. This is what we do with Can You Dig It, we connect people and offer them a place to grow and contribute to their community. ”
~ Cinthia Pagé, project coordinator
